It never rains but it pours as the old saying goes, and right now its pouring one headache after another on householders as the BBC reports that energy could rise by as much as 40% this winter.
The increase is much more than has already been predicted, and says the report, it could cost an average of £400 on every household fuel bill annually.
The BBC suggests that announcements are likely to come in August when energy bills are not on peoples minds.
On the other hand the report adds that some analysts predict the figure to be nearer 25%.
