Brown orders bad debt honesty from banks

In attempt to restore some semblance of stability to financial markets and the money-go-round in general, Gordon Brown will be calling on banks to be more upfront about impending ‘bad news’.
The PM will be taking the opportunity of French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s state visit this week to ‘labour’ the point.

April brings new ISA limits

From the new tax year new limits for your ISA will be in place.
As of 6th April £3,600 can go into your cash ISA or up to £7,200 into stocks and shares.
The yearly total savings limit is £7,200.
ISAs have been around since 1999 and limits have only increased by 3% - not exactly a thrilling [...]

Unemployment down by 32,000

Interestingly in these troubled times, some economic measures appear stable and
healthy, as the Bank of England decides not to reduce interest rates further in March.
Figures from The Office for National Statistics show UK unemployment down by 32,000 to 1.61m with annualised average earnings rising at 3.7% - in spite of higher rates of headline inflation [...]

HBOS Victim Of False ‘Crisis’ Rumours
